A great year with the Rotary Club of Arnprior

I would just like to express my thanks and appreciation for the wonderful evening of July 4.

The friends and family of all who attended made it a great and festive crowd and I believe all had an excellent time. I am truly honoured with the “peace lily” that I received and will find a prestigious location for it. Club members and the local community have all made my life a little brighter and I am honoured to have received not only the Past President’s Pin but also my second sapphire to my Paul Harris in support of Rotary International.

Our on-going connections through what we do as a close-knit team in Arnprior and surrounding area is awesome. I was also thrilled with our efforts and involvement in assisting with international humanitarian support as a result of recent major natural disasters. The Duck Race, Calendars, Park Benches, Library Contribution, Christmas Cakes, Shelter Box, White Pine Fest and other things certainly keep us busy and in touch with others in our community.

I want to thank everyone in the community for their support to our Club. It is fantastic to see what we do with the funds we raise in helping others. The 25th Anniversary Event was a great way to share with other Rotarians and Clubs in the Valley. I am particularly pleased with the truly wonderful efforts of all the students and teachers of the schools that participated in sharing and caring for others through the mentoring and literacy connectivity in the local schools by the use of the “Who is Nobody” educational program www.whoisnobody.com.

Their efforts and the kind things they have done have made the last year a truly amazing experience. I do wish the very best to our new president Sean Watson. And to all those in Arnprior, Braeside and McNab and surrounding area I enjoy being a Rotarian and want all to know that when ever and where ever I can, I will warmly extend the Rotary hand of friendship to all. You never know, I might see you dropping in some Monday evening to see what your local Rotary Club is all about.

Best regards,

Dave W. Palmer,

Past President,

The Rotary Club of Arnprior
